Dr. Ryan Krupp

Dr. Ryan Krupp is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also received his orthopaedic surgery residency training. Following his residency, Dr. Krupp completed a fellowship in sports medicine and complex shoulder reconstruction at the world renowned Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Spartanburg, S.C
. He then returned to the Louisville area to head up Norton Orthopaedic Specialists, a practice focused on subspecialty orthopaedic care.
In addition to caring for children and adults with sports injuries, complex shoulder problems and other orthopaedic injuries, Dr. Krupp serves as the Director of Sports Medicine for Norton Healthcare. In that role, he leads Norton Healthcare initiatives to improve the care of athletes throughout Louisville and the surrounding areas with programs such as injury prevention education, clinical research, Saturday Sports Injury Clinics, certified athletic trainer education, athletic event coverage and community partnerships. Dr. Krupp currently serves as the head team physician for numerous local programs including Eastern High School, St. Catharine College in Bardstown, the athletic teams of the Basketball Academy, Lyndon and Middletown Baseball Clubs, and our very own Louisville Lightning.
Dr. Krupp was also instrumental in expanding the already highly successful trainers network within the Jefferson County Public School System (JCPS), a partnership that was established between KORT, JCPS and Norton Healthcare. As part of that program, he is a key contributor to a wide array of educational programs, including an annual regional continuing educational symposium for athletic trainers. In addition, as part of his role in injury prevention and treatment, he is currently working in a partnership with KORT and Dr. Tad Seifert to develop a comprehensive concussion management program which will improve the care of athletes suffering from these potentially devastating injuries not only in our local area but throughout the region.
