Year in school: 2nd Year Master’s of Sports Administration, University of Louisville
 
Background: 
In June 2009 Amanda graduated from The Ohio State University. While at The Ohio State University she played 4 years for the Varsity Lacrosse Team and spent 1 year as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the team. During her time at Ohio State she spent 4 years as a Student Administrative Assistant for 8 of the Varsity Teams. Amanda also spent time working as an Intern in the Athletic Event Management Department and the Sports Camp Office. This past summer Amanda had the opportunity to work with the American Junior Golf Association as an Operations Intern and helped conduct 9 tournaments in Texas, Mexico, Arkansas and California. Currently, she is the Assistant Coach for the Girl’s Varsity Lacrosse at Manual HS
 
Goals for this organization:
Shimp is excited to return to the Lightning this year for the 2nd season. The opportunity to work with the Lightning this year will be another great learning experience. After a great inaugural season, Shimp hopes to help bring the Lightning to the next level in the Louisville area and she is excited to see the continued growth of the organization.
 
Career Goals:
 
After completion of the graduate program at University of Louisville, Amanda is looking to work at the collegiate level in academic services for athletes or event management.
