David Horne is entering his first season as General Manager and Assistant Coach of the Louisville Lightning, the newest member of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro). Horne, a Louisville, KY native, has returned to his hometown to oversee, assist and play for the newly franchised professional indoor soccer team.

A product of Saint Xavier High School, Horne was a 2002 KHSAA High School State Champion and two-time State finalist with the
Tigers, before choosing to play out his collegiate career at Centre College in Danville, KY.
 
While at Centre, David was named as an NSCAA/adidas Academic All-American in 2006, becoming the school’s first NSCAA/adidas Academic All-American. A two-time captain, David was also the 2006 Centre College Male Athlete of the Year, a three-time All-SCAC (Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) performer and finished runner-up in conference voting for Defensive Player of the Year in both 2005 and 2006. Horne was twice named to the NSCAA All-South Central Region 1st Team and was honored by D3kicks.com as a 2006 Regional All-American. In his career, Horne amassed 18 goals and 7 assists for a total of 43 points as a stopper.
 
In 2007, Horne went on to play professionally for the Cincinnati Kings of the United Soccer Leagues 2nd Division (USL-2), picking up USL-2 Team of the Week honors during his time with the organization. Following trial stints with six other professional clubs, Horne moved inside and played for the Cincinnati 1790 professional indoor soccer team of PASL-Pro. While with Cincinnati 1790, Horne helped the team win the 2009 Eastern Division title and played in the North American Championship game, losing to the Stockton Cougars in the final.
 
During his time playing with the Kings and 1790, Horne also served as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach for Centre College, his alma mater. During his two-year term as Assistant Coach, Horne’s responsibilities with the team included technical training, practice organization, website development, player recruiting, and game day planning. David also served as a lecture staff member and personal group trainer for the popular brand of soccer camps, Player Development Programs, LLC. He is currently an active member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
