
Ted Nichols
Co-Owner and Head Coach Louisville Lightning
Ted Nichols, born in Milwaukee, WI, is the new head coach of the Louisville Lightning. Nichols spent his grade and high school years in Rockford, IL before attending Aurora University in Aurora, IL, where he played goalkeeper. Nichols transferred to Monmouth and finished out his playing career while graduating in 1993 with a Business Administration degree with a focus in sports marketing and a minor in communications. He began his coaching career while a Graduate Assistant at Monmouth.
Nichols has worked for Rockford Professional Baseball, the Montreal Expos and Chicago Cubs for a total of four years. He began his sales career with McCormick Equipment Co., Inc. where his job has taken him to Milwaukee, Tampa, Orlando and Boston, MA. In 1996, Nichols and his family moved to Louisville, KY with McCormick Equipment Co., Inc.
Nichols has been the Goalkeeper trainer for Mockingbird from 1998-2007. He started and instructed the Nichols Goalkeeping Academy from 2002-2007. Ted is also the Assistant Varsity Soccer coach for St. Xavier High School soccer, 2000-present. Nichols and his wife Jenny reside in the city of Hurstbourne with their three children Ryan, Libby and Davis.
