THE LIGHTNING HOPES TO HELP DETROIT WAZA HELP STUDENTS GLOBALLY

The Detroit Waza has been involved globally in helping developing countries with the donation of their time and resources, especially involving children. Africa has especially benefited from involvement as well as with donated equipment, time and training. Countries like Kenya, Gambia, and Senegal have greatly benefited from their involvement.

Waza Africa is a Kogelo Development Project, partnered with the Obama campaign and started by John Bob Oyugi and partners of the Detroit Waza. The goal of the project is to encourage students to work hard and reach for high academic success. Waza Africa is currently in need of new or gently used soccer equipment like cleats, balls, goals, nets, and uniforms.

The Louisville Lightning would like to contribute to this noble cause and we would like to ask for the help of our fans. The Lightning hosts the Detroit Waza twice more before the end of the season; Friday, January 29 and Friday, February 26. Please bring donations to games on these days to help support the project.
