01-17-10 LIGHTNING WIN IMPORTANT AWAY GAME AGAINST DETRIOT WAZA

LIGHTNING COME UP BIG IN AWAY GAME

Goalkeeper, Frank PeabodyGoalkeeper Frank Peabody came up huge for the Lightning, making several key saves down the stretch. "We’ve learned that it’s difficult to win on the road in this league. It was a real team effort tonight, and we’re just happy to pull out the win", said Peabody.

Defender Patrick Bueno (Greenville, SC) had a brilliant full volley goal with the Waza playing a full field press with a 6th attacker. The ball sailed just inches from the rafters and struck the back of the net, never hitting the ground. "Coach said in our last time-out break, when in doubt, kick it out, so I did. It was a once in a lifetime shot."

Patrick BuenoHead Coach Scott Budnick shared his thoughts after the game:

"Peabody proved his value tonight with an exceptionally strong performance; he kept us in the game."

"Bueno’s strike was a simple treasure. A true gem."

GM-Player David Horne said, "The win tonight was crucial as we enter into the second half of the season. This is the momentum we were looking for as we head into three Friday night home games over the next three weeks."
