College: Hagerty spent one season at St. Louis University, playing in 17 games and tallying 1 assist. Transferred to the University of Kentucky in 2007 where he played in 15 games with 9 starts his sophomore season, registering 1 goal and 1 assist. During his junior campaign, he played in 20 games, with 16 starts. During the season, he led Conference USA with 6 assists and added 1 goal. Was named to the Conference USA All-Tournament team and after the season was named a 2008 CoSIDA Academic All-American. During senior season, registered 2 goals and 2 assists, while playing in 15 games. Finished career as a 3 time Conference USA All-Academic Team selection.
 
Club/Prep/High School: As a member of the Javanon ’87 Boys, won 9 KY State Championships, in 2003 won the USYSA U-16 Region II Championship and was a National Semi-Finalist, and in 2006 won the USYSA U-19 Region II Championship and USYSA National Championship. At Saint Xavier H.S. was coached by Andy Schulten and helped lead the team to back-to-back state titles in 2002 and 2003, as well as a runner-up finish in 2001. Was a two time KHSAA First team All-State selection and the 2003 Kentucky Eurosport Player of the Year. Was named a 2004 NSCAA Adidas Academic All-American after 2004 senior season.
 
Personal: Son of Charles and Janet Hagerty. Has a sister Melissa, a brother Andrew, and a Golden Retriever named Nicki. Graduated from the University of Kentucky in the Spring ’10 with a degree in Exercise Science.

What is your most memorable soccer moment: Winning the US Youth Soccer National Championship with the Javanon ’87 boys or having the game winning assist to make it to the ’08 Conference USA tournament championship game for UK.
 
Who was your favorite coach and why? Greg Moss-Brown, who coached me in club soccer my senior year. He really understood how to manage players and was able to get the most out of me as a player at all times.
 
What would you recommend to young players who want to become a professional athlete?: Set your goals high, believe in yourself and your ability as a player, and dedicate yourself to reaching your goals in everything that you do.
 
Best part about being a professional athlete: Playing the sport I love at a high level with some great guys.
