Personal: Son of Bill and Edith Weyland, I am the middle of five children. After graduating from Vanderbilt with a BA in ‘07 I returned to Louisville to work for CITY Properties Group, focusing on revitalizing downtown Louisville. At that time I began coaching with Javanon Soccer Club and helping my little sister’s team at Mercy High School. This past year I served as an assistant coach with the Javanon 91 boys who finished second in the USYSA National Championships in July 2009, in Lancaster, MA.

Who was your favorite coach and why? Claudio Maldonado at Javanon because he understands the game so well and was able to push each player to get better every day.
What would you recommend to young players who want to become a professional athlete?Work hard every day and always be prepared to take advantage of an opportunity because you never know when it will come.
